See this kid? This is my little brother Brandon. He’s 14, and in the 8th grade. There’s also one other thing about him, he’s my life. on July 9, 2010, he was diagnosed with a high functioning form of autisim called Asperger’s Syndrome, which means he has the mind of a genious but no social skills with others. Because he is a little different from other kids his age, and the very fact he is smart, means he gets picked on alot. We all know it’s because the other kids may seem a little jealous that he does good in school and has a family thst cares, but that doesn’t make the words hurt any less. He is one of the smartest people I know, I mean come on, how many 14 year old kids can solve at college level math equation in 10 minutes? Not many, I can assure you that. But the words hit my brother hard, he often threatens to kill himself because other kids have convinced him he is a low life compared to them, only because he is a little different. Well I have news for you, he’s not, this kid cares more about his family now then most people do in their whole lifetime. He aspires to be a game designer, something he’s really good at, and we support him 100%. The point of this post is not to make you sorry for him, but to get people’s attention on the problem bullying causes. We all need to take a stand against bullying. One less bully in the world, one more life saved. Let’s get the word out, stop the bullying.
